Saturday Adventures: Two

Here’s our weekend in pictures.  All taken with Adam’s Windows 7 phone, so please excuse the quality of some of the pictures.  I’m not used to all the settings and I forgot set them.

Adam and I started off the weekend with a much needed date night.  We don’t have a weekly date night, so we really enjoy our dates when we go out.  I was inspired after reading Elder Scott’s conference talk, The Eternal Blessings of Marriage.  I decided that Adam and I were due for a date night, but to make it more fun I sent Adam a coded text message.

After a little help he figured it out.  Since the way I asked him on a date was creative, it took the pressure of planning a creative date.  So, I stuck with a classic and we went to dinner and a movie.  We saw Pirates of the Caribbean 4 in 3D.  It was both Adam and my first 3D movie.  We loved it and we can’t wait to see Harry Potter in 3D.

While Adam and I were on our date, McKay went on a date of his own with his Grannie and PoPo.  They went out for dinner at a Chinese restaurant and then for ice cream.  I love this picture my Dad took of McKay in front of the fish tank at the Chinese restaurant.  I guess McKay loved watching the fish and kept getting up to see them.

Saturday, we had a pretty low-key.  It started off with a trip to the barber shop, the cake decorating supply store and a drive through downtown seattle to see Daddy’s office.

We came home to find PoPo cooking with his birthday present…

If you don’t know what a Big Green Egg is you are missing out.  It is the best smoker in the world.  PoPo cooked up some ribs, tri-tip and corn.  McKay really likes helping PoPo cook with the Big Green Egg.  Here they are hanging out while the corn was cooking.  And let me say that was one delicious dinner.

We finished our weekend tonight with bedtime stories with Grannie.  Love, love, love these Snapshot Picture Library book.  And some of them come with 3D pictures.  Are you sensing a theme?

Hope you all had a good weekend too.
