A Fool's Chicken Dinner

This year I was finally organized enough that I was able to prepare a fun dinner for April Fools.   The trick I decided to do was to make a dinner that looks like dessert and a dessert that looks like dinner.  Well, I skipped the first half of the meal because my Dad wasn’t too thrilled with eating mashed potatoes and meatloaf that looked like a cupcake.  So, we kept it low key and I made a delicious dessert that looked like chicken nuggets, mashed potatoes and gravy, & veggies.

When we gave McKay his second dinner he didn’t want to take one bite.  But after a little coaxing he decided to try his mashed potatoes and gravy which was really ice cream and caramel sauce.  He loved it but when we asked him what it was he said it was mashed potatoes and gravy.  We then had him try each item on the plate; veggies really starburst cut and rolled into veggie shapes, and chicken nuggets that were really homemade peanut butter logs with coconut.  Every time we would ask him what he was eating he would tell us the item the food looked like not really what it was.  He was convinced that his ice cream was really mashed potatoes and gravy.  I think I just confused him and maybe ruined his good eating habits.  It was fun either way.

Haha! That is genious. You'll have to try it again in a couple of years, I'm sure he will think it's the best dinner ever.
